Today's UK horse racing results

Every UK result is listed here as soon as the race is official: the winner, the placed horses, starting prices and winning distances. Open any race for the full finishing order, the Tote returns and the comments on how each horse ran.

Understanding a race result

Each result shows the finishing order, the starting price of every horse — with F for the favourite — and the beaten distances between them. Distances are measured in lengths, with short margins abbreviated: nse nose, shd short head, hd head and nk neck. dht means a dead heat.

Rule 4 and your returns

If a horse was withdrawn after you bet, a Rule 4 deduction may reduce your winnings. Your stake is always returned in full. Our odds page explains how the deduction scale works.

From results to form

Results feed straight into our profiles. A horse's form figures, a jockey's strike rate and a trainer's recent record on our jockeys, horses and trainers pages all update from the same results. To look back at a past day's racing, open any date from the results archive.

Horse racing results: FAQs

What does SP mean in horse racing results?

SP is the starting price — the official odds at the moment the race starts. Bets taken at SP, and bets covered by Best Odds Guaranteed, are settled at this price.

What does F or JF after a starting price mean?

F marks the favourite and JF a joint favourite. CF means co-favourite, when three or more horses share favouritism.

What do nk, hd and shd mean in results?

They are beaten distances: nk is a neck, hd a head and shd a short head. Nse is a nose, the smallest margin.

When are results official?

A result becomes official after the "weighed in" announcement, once any stewards' inquiry is resolved. Bookmakers settle bets on the official result.

Can I see yesterday's horse racing results?

Yes. Every UK result stays on Bets & Horses, and you can open any past date from the results pages.
