Draw bias · Not significant on the National Hunt course. Fences and stamina dictate outcomes far more than draw position.

★ What punters need to know about Aintree
- Stayers thrive — anything you back at the Grand National Festival needs proven distance form.
- Trainers who specialise in the Aintree fences (e.g. Lucinda Russell, Sandy Thomson) hold the edge on National day.
- Watch for horses with Cheltenham Festival "bounce-back" credentials four weeks earlier.
- Bookmakers offer Extra Places (5-6 places vs standard 3-4) on the Grand National itself — always shop around for place terms.
